I wonder if the order in which the stations appear on the tape has any importance... Columbia Scott Road Gateway Surrey Central Burrard King George Granville VCC-Clark Commercial Drive (still separate) Renfrew Rupert Gilmore Brentwood Town Centre Holdom Sperling-Burnaby Lake Lake City Way Stadium (no Chinatown) Production Way-University Lougheed Town Centre Braid Sapperton *WOODLANDS* Main Street-Science World "Train to" Broadway (no Cmm. Dr.) "Expo Line to" "Millennium Line to" "The next station is" "Terminus station" "For this train" "Would all passengers please leave the train at" "at" (joiner) Nanaimo "This train is being taken out of service" 29th Avenue "Passengers with valid passes may remain on board for return travel" (What's this one about?)

Seeing that Woodlands is in the list of recordings and the timeline of the project I'm surprised Bell, Boundary and Grandview aren't there.

I was working on Terminal Ave. from 1981 to 1985. Oh this brings back memories, I watched it all get built. Can never forget how the building shook when they were pounding in the pilings. And the traffic snarl ups - legendary!! Bought a coffee cup at expo 86 with the image of the new Vancouver sky line, featuring B.C. Place with it's original dome. ( never used it ) figure it's a collector item now!

As long as there are people working in all the big buildings the rest of a city will come together. Once the jobs are gone, the rest of the ambiance and innovation deteriorate too.

Vancouver was happening and hopping in these days...Today, it just seems bogged down it itself, with never ending delays in every area of the lower mainland. Add the cost of living, the retrofitting of transit..which never ends, and, well...the basics apply...stay out of downtown, or any other traffic chaos section...good luck in the winter, and pay through the nose for gas....Unless absolutely necessary, stay away from the congestion...The phrase..if you build it..they will come.....might be in question now more than ever....
